Aaj ke digital daur mein jab aap koi flight ticket book karte hain ya online shopping karte hain, toh aksar aapke sath kuch aisa hota hai jo aapne plan nahi kiya hota. Kya aapne kabhi notice kiya hai ki checkout ke waqt achanak koi ‘Insurance’ ya ‘Convenience Fee’ bina aapki marzi ke jud jati hai? Ise hi technology ki bhasha mein “Dark Patterns” kehte hain.

Dark Patterns Kya Hain?

Dark patterns aise deceptive (dhokhadhadi wale) design hote hain jo users ko aise kaam karne ke liye majboor karte hain jo wo shayad nahi karna chahte the. Ye aapki ‘Choice’ ko manipulate karte hain.

5 Sabse Khatarnak Dark Patterns

  • False Urgency: “Sirf 2 seats bachi hain!” bolkar aapko jaldbaazi mein galat faisla lene par majboor karna.
  • Basket Sneaking: Aapke cart mein bina bataye extra saman ya service (jaise donation) add kar dena.
  • Subscription Trap: Membership lena asaan, lekin cancel karne ka option itna chupa dena ki aap thak jayein.
  • Confirm Shaming: Jab aap discount mana karein, toh likha aaye “Nahi, mujhe paise bachana pasand nahi”.
  • Drip Pricing: Shuruat mein sasta dikhana aur payment page tak aate-aate hidden charges jod dena.

Bharat ka Kanoon Kya Kehta Hai?

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) ne November 2023 mein naye guidelines jari kiye hain. In guidelines ke mutabik, agar koi e-commerce platform ya app in 13 identified dark patterns ka istemal karta hai, toh use kanoon ka ullanghan mana jayega.

Uday Singh, Advocate ke anusar, “Grahakon ko apne adhikaron ke prati sajag rehna chahiye. Agar koi company aapko manipulate karti hai, toh aap Consumer Court ka darwaza khatkhata sakte hain.”

Apna Bachav Kaise Karein?

  1. Hamesha final payment karne se pehle bill summary check karein.
  2. Pre-checked boxes ko uncheck karna na bhoolein.
  3. Agar dhokha ho, toh National Consumer Helpline 1800-11-4000 par shikayat karein.
